  4. Hi Everyone, Kirstie, our wonderful niece, set up this blog and Bill and I are electronically challenged so I have created a new email so Bill and I can use it. Wanted to update everyone as of March 2nd. We are still in process of getting a true diagnosis. Bill had bone marrow biopsy on Sat and they sent the sample out to an outside lab. It routinely takes 3-5 days to get results. We are praying to get news soon. At this time, they are now looking at a lymphoma diagnosis, as opposed to leukemia when we came into the hospital. He has had six units of blood and they are watching his blood counts closely. We appreciate all the prayers...please keep doing that. We will keep you posted.

  9. Greetings from the northern part of the US. Yes, Obama is still President of Pennsylvania, even though Bryce constantly reminds me that Oklahoma didn't vote for him. Speaking of troubling situations, Aunt Jan told me about your "vacation" in the hospital. Ha! I spent 5 days last February for a short vacation stay. Sounds like you have a few more days of waiting to hear what's ailing you. That's always a lot of fun--waiting . . . . I was praying for you this morning and was readying Psalm 91. Wow! Did I feel that was appropriate for your and Judy's situation. To me, it sounds like a great Psalm to claim, especially in the middle when it talks about disease and pestilence not afflicting you. Obviously, we have no idea what Father's will is for any of us, but if we abide under the shadow of Father's sovereignty, somehow it's all good. I'll try to call you on the phone and try to cheer you up with some Clinton jokes or redneck jokes. I remember that scar on your neck used to freak me out as a little kid. Jan said you got it when you were just a baby. And that was your last time you were in the hospital! Ha! God often teaches us a lot when we're on our backs, because we have to look up. I know you're looking and listening. God is in control. How blessed we are! Love you guys! John John

  10. Greetings to you from Little Miss Hogansville! And yes, you have now tasked me with the challenge of my first ever blogging experience. But you know I'll do anything for you :-). I hope you'll be at home today by the time you get a chance to read this. Know that you are constantly being lifted up in prayer, and that we trust in the name of the Lord our God! And now I am all connected at home with voice recognition software, so I can e-mail faster than anybody! I love you so so so much! Since we are the bookends for our extended family (oldest and youngest), our job is to keep the whole gang together. Since I'm Little Miss Hogansville, does that mean we will have to crown you Big Mr. Johnson City? I'll get to work on that right away. Hugs and kisses to you from Cartersville Georgia where it snowed again yesterday! I'll talk to you soon. Cousin Lu

  12. Hi Everyone, Keith is giving me a blogging lesson and he wrote the post above. Thought I would give a BILL UPDATE. He got out of hospital today after getting platelets. So far, he has had six units of blood and the platelets. We are awaiting the results of MAYO Clinic looking at his blood. At this time, they are thinking it is a rare type of lymphoma and treatable with chemotherapy. They dosed him up with blood products so we could come home!! Praise the Lord. We have so enjoyed being at home this afternoon and his baby sister, Jan, prepared his favorite spagetti for dinner tonight!!! We are continuing to look up and be positive about the outcome of this disease. Bill has the most wonderful attitude and is at peace with where this is going. We have two great oncologists in the practice that we like and they are communicating well with us. We also have two friends who are oncologist who are reviewing what we find out. We are truly blessed with family and friend network who is taking care of everything for us. Please continue to keep us in your prayers. We go to the oncologist's office on Tuesday afternoon and find out the final diagnosis and plan for treatment. Thanks for all the support. Love, Judy and Bill

  16. Hi, this is a message from Judy and Bill. Bill feels like he is out or prison...he loves being at home. The real challenge he is having is riding in the car with Judy!! He is definitely a passenger seat driver!!! He had a great day today. He went to the "McDonald's Boys Club" and the guys were thrilled to see him. Had other company come to visit. Bill is resting now. We are trying to take it easy. Will post more later on.

  17. Bill and Judy - Denise told me about your illness. I'm praying that all will go well and your test results will be good and the disease treatable. I miss seeing y'all since I'm not around the VA any more, but think about you often. Bill, be brave and think positive. I know this is earth-shattering for you but know that there are a lot of people who care for you and wish you the best. Sharon Crowe
